Golden Week (a week we will NOT be in Japan)

Last week was Golden Week in Japan! A great week for the Japanese, but not for the traveler. Airfare prices soar, transportation is impossible to reserve, and businesses are closed. It's during the last week of April/ first week of May. April 29 is Showa Day, May 3 is Constitution Memorial Day, May 4 is Greenery Day, and (most popular) is Children's Day on May 5. Danny Choo explains it a bit more:

Hanami

If we go sometime during the end of March or beginning of April, we will have the chance to see the cherry blossoms in bloom! It's a popular time of year to partake in Hanami, or flower viewing. Here, I shall let Danny Choo explain with his beautiful photographs (except for his creepy anime doll he takes everywhere):

Resurrecting the blog for a new purpose

If you are reading this, that means you have been chosen as one of the lucky few we wish to go to Japan with in 2016. It may sound far away now, but start saving monies now and you'll have a good time. So! First on the agenda, let's discuss WHEN in 2016 we would like to go in Japan. I vote spring! Either late March, April or May (just not on Golden Week, never on Golden Week ). What say you? Always take into account what your job and savings will and will not allow. Are you in or out?

These people take 45 Snickers Bars to Japan.

Do not be alarmed, this is just a test....

Actually, this is us testing out our blog we create now, and will quite possibly forget about as we embark on our whirlwind honeymoon to Japan. Wow, is that only 7 weeks away?? Less than two months! AND we get to move into a house before then too! Whooosh! Hear that? That's the sound of our lives just breezing through the last months of summer!
